I don't think it's a given that Darth is the GMOY. With 6 weeks left, all hell could break loose. My argument is that there is a front runner, a close second, and then the field right now through week 18. To argue that there isn't a clear front runner seems like a political decision.

In going into rebuild mode the previous year and acquiring more picks as a result, it puts a team at an advantage going into the offseason and next season compared to people who did not acquire as many picks and kept the team they had. Just like having an elite team one year makes it easier to have an elite team the next year, having an abundance of picks from the previous year makes for an easier ascent from the depths in the current year. The previous year a team acquired more picks for the improvement of the rebuild going forward at the cost of wins in that current year. It's all about how you see it. If you don't consider that an advantage from either trading those picks or trading players from those picks, the rebuild from the year before is nothing to consider. It just begs the question of where to start your judgement of a team for GMOY for the current year and how do you value the improvement from the previous year without taking into account the choices of the previous year. To each their own. I don't know what to say. In the end the team he blew up had pieces that were worthy of picks. Honestly, it's the same thing Conroy did the year before. Is there a reason we are looking at them differently? When you acquire picks for your talent, it only makes sense that you would have the opportunity to then move those picks for other talent. Better talent that makes your team better than the last time they made the playoffs. Conroy did almost an identical thing but we ride Darth because his buddies know he reacts. No one can be forced to keep a team in tact if they don't want to. I thought you don't want last year to be taken into account for this year? Jk. I honestly don't know most of these people personally. And i am not talking about darth as opposed to anyone else. Last year as a first year gm I wasn't paying attention to who was doing what where. I need to go and look back at everything from this year to last year as a whole bc I think it matters. All I'm saying is if we judge off of this year alone, having more picks puts you at an advantage to some other teams. So if I am offending anyone, I apologize. I just really needed something to make work go by quicker and this is doing the job.

Those who weren't division winners who win their division plays a big part in my votes. It's not a sole reason or necessity, but I like to reward those who achieve an accomplishment

I don't need a full paragraph to sway your vote so this will be short and sweet.
38-19 (Compare that to other candidates). 20-4 WITHOUT my best player. Only 4, yes 4, losses in last 25 games, better than any other team. Did not tank. Did not have a top 3 pick, instead drafted middle picks as well as anyone. Early sims were part of plan to figure what NOT to do.
Eat. Sleep. GMOY.

My quick fire nominees: Mavs Raptors Rockets Sonics Blazers In my mind it is really the top 3 guys who have the best shot of taking this trophy. - Mavs got a great pick from their less than stellar rebuild year, but anyone who wants to throw around the "T" word forgets that he used the picks and cap space acquired from the previous year to build a better competitor this year. The pieces he has brought in have melded together well to create a very real threat at the MidWest crown and ultimately a good matchup or two from the NBA Finals. - The Raptors changed the most and brought in a lot of new faces to compete right now. Because of their almost reckless abandon for any long term future, they have cemented themselves in the East as the best shot at dethroning the Celtics as conference champ. Ultimately, their team is built to beat the Pistons and it was well constructed to do that. Look for this team to win the Central and make it uncomfortable for the odds on favorites, the Boston Celtics. - The Rockets are the classic top-seed gets a vote candidate. They have added a lot of new faces that keep them successful. They snuck in to a playoff spot last year largely based on Shaq's abilities, but this year they built around their raw talented center and have become a scary team to play. I just want to say a quick thanks to Tray for the small shout out. I know I didn't make the big trade for a second legitimate big man like I needed to in order to be a real contender but I have done some nice things with my team and I appreciate the recognition. As for me, Darth has made all of the moves I wish I would have could have made. I offered max contracts to Seikaly and Grant and definitely schemed to get Muresan but he made them all happen. Call it envy but I really dig those moves.

I Didn't make a shitload of moves but 3 decisions I made help my team get where they are now
1. Resigned Danny Manning 2. Sign Kevin McHale who has helped with front court depth 3. Traded for Kevin Willis who has filled the hole I had at the 5 position since I've been a GM in the Sim League.
I know I haven't made a bunch of moves but I did what I needed to make my team better this year and filled voids that needed to be filled.

Not that I'm campaigning for him, but I think Conroy is being overlooked as option for repeat GMOY. Added Hot Rod, Kukoc, Bimbo, Porter, and still can have cap flexibility in future years.

You brought back an integral piece in Michael Adams and brought in LJ who's been huge for you. Moves like that should be recognized for the success it brings your respective teams.

Since we're handing out gold stars for everyone there's one GM who has surpassed the 200 win Mark and hasn't been considered at all for this award this or previous seasons.
GMOY = MIT
