This is all supposed to be fun, but all this award is doing is pitting us against each other and creating more hate than I've ever since in this league ever. Including the beeball days.
Makes me sick to my stomach.

Makes me sick to my stomach. Thats what i am trying to prevent. I understand We are grown men and can defend our own opinions but some don't want to argue over their choices for an award that is voluntarily votes for participation points. No need to have people confronting each other after results are open. But you guys know I'm all in for what the league wants even if I don't agree wholeheartedly.

This is all that will come out of this. No "justice", just stupid pointless confrontations that won't result in anything except diminished participation in the league as a whole. And if this award for GMOY is just going to lead to that, then to hell with it

Makes me sick to my stomach. It's a simulation league. There is no reason to attack people over this. It is for fun. I am one that dishes a lot of stuff out to people I know and have recently become more active in general. I know if I dish I need to be able to take it. And any decisions or opinions I make can be questioned. But at the end of the day, it's no hair off my back. I say keep the award. The different opinions and shit talking and discussion are good.

No one has said anything about attacks. It makes no sense to make this a bigger deal then it needs to be. I don't get when this exploded into a witch hunt. All we are saying is vote how you want to but don't throw people on the ballot that don't deserve it to keep others from getting the award.

Attacks haven't happened yet, but just wait for when the votes are made public and votes that GM 1 thought he was getting from GM 3 went to GM 2. Why does GM 3 have to justify his decision to anyone? It's his decision to make for whatever reason he makes it, whether GM 1 likes it or not. If GM 3 wants to disclose it, then he is free to do so, but in no way shape or form should we say your personal decision will be displayed to all regardless if you want it to be or not. Because honestly, if we make this voting public after final votes are made in private, nothing is stopping people from just abstaining from the voting process as a whole.

No, changing the format because a candidate who many thought "should" win but didn't seems like a overreaction when we have made moves to fix the error (timing of votes). It's fixed, why do we need to add more when some don't want to do it? I understand why you want an open vote now, Tray. I'll admit that I screwed up and forgot to vote which would have put you in 1st, but the issue is over and we recognize we made a mistake by letting voting continue to Finals. If you won the ECF you would have won GMOY and that's the shitty part, because in regular season voting you would have ran away with it. The while "let's make this open" is because we are assuming some didn't vote for you with a casted vote. But how do we know this?

Because honestly, if we make this voting public after final votes are made in private, nothing is stopping people from just abstaining from the voting process as a whole. I have said this from the beginning that there are only three or four legitimate candidates for this award in any given year. I think the push for this is to keep people from putting guys on their ballot that aren't more deserving than a guy who was left off. No one is saying that they will need to explain anything. There is no reason to talk about it. MLB Hall of Fame is having this problem right now. Voters are putting guys on their ballot that hit .200 for their career in order to keep the steroid era guys off. The argument is that people that place votes like that should have their ballots made public. You can't claim to be an expert of the game if you are voting for fringe starters on your HOF ballots. If it is made public, then these guys will have their credibility questioned when they have ballots that are insulting to the sport. This example is not that far fetched from our situation. The reasons to vote without some of the guys left standing at this point are personal reasons and they shouldn't be shrouded by a false sense of anonymity.

I am barely supporting it. What I am saying is that it is meaningless to overreact to this. There is no fault in making the ballots public. We did it in PR for more seasons then we have played here. And we actually have done it better than there because your vote doesn't impact anyone else's. Let me publicly apologize once and for all for my behavior after the votes were tallied up. Apparently that seems to be the thing everyone is hanging on to. I had less votes than there were ballots and if that happened to me or Conroy it doesn't matter it would have been a travesty either way. There is about to be a greater form of injustice this year than anything that happened last year. That's the fear.

Anyone who wins has some merit to being serving. This isn't a "for the greater good" solution, but if votes are made public there can be some form of feeling beTRAYed I'm not saying they should win. You are misunderstanding my point. I am saying if they are purposefully left off the ballot meaning no second or third place votes either. Then those people are not making a decision based on fact but instead emotion. People are emotional about how other build their teams. Unfortunately for many, only one other team has made a legitimate enough excuse to be considered over the rebuilders. So if the rebuilders are left off the ballot completely like they are steroid era guys, then those people making those votes should have to stand next to them. There will always be someone rebuilding. Let's hope that the rest of us can keep them down on the court. But at this point in the season, there are no other good arguments. I hate that this keeps being made about me. All I did was meet others expectations last year. I didn't expect to win. I made my argument and thought it was a good one. I didn't agree with the results. I shouldn't have to agree with the results. But I didnt expected the award like you all are saying until the season was over. Go back and read the press conference.

Because you just said there is about to be another, even bigger form of injustice that will happen if we don't open the results later. I can only think of on other situation that happened previously.
Sucks that someone left you off man. I'm not sure who did it or why, if it was a mistake or not, but we can't let one poor award process change the rest.
We messed up. We fixed it. Now we are just adding on

There is nothing to stop me from voting Coltsguy-Doug-kucoach on my ballot 1-2-3. Does anyone else see why this would be an issue?

This isn't a "for the greater good" solution, but if votes are made public there can be some form of feeling beTRAYed If you can't stand by your vote, simply don't vote. This is for the greater good even if you can't see it. People holding grudges over things? You know the only way that happens? Is if someone is a tool when they vote. If this "changes" a terrible vote because people are scared of someone holding a grudge, then THANK GOD. Want to talk about overreaction? This response to putting a name behind what you vote for is an overreaction. The "lets just not have the award" is overreaction. Have credence behind your vote and no one will blame you. They may disagree, but they can't blame. You can ask Tray. when he lost i didn't think it was the biggest injustice done in the world. I felt the second place team won and that was that. I was not heavy hearted nor do i think a great injustice happened by him not winning. What would have been an injustice is someone not voting Tray or Conroy 1 or 2. No one, not even tray or Conroy would be upset if you voted one or the other 1 or 2; i've asked them both. Make an educated vote and I will always have your back as i'm sure the rest of the board will. Be proud of your votes. I am very proud that i voted Gatling #1 on 6th man even though I wanted LJ to win. in regards to releasing last year's. That's not right. There was no fair warning and the votes that were intended to be private will stay that way.

Are we going to set a minimum amount of votes needed? I think this will reduce turnout for the voting. It's already low.

I won't vote if it's open. I talk to all 28 GMs throughout the season at one point, don't need others to feel I cheated them out. I don't understand what the issue is if there is no issue, yet a very few select to change the voting when the person that runs it doesn't like the idea. We fixed the problem but now we are adding others.
So voting didn't go a certain way, doesn't mean people want to argue about it After. The idea started to confront those with bad votes. There is no bad vote. Don't come up with ridiculous magic, bucks, nuggets possibilities of winning, no one is stupid enough to do that
