Beginning today until the last sim of the season, feel free to post stats, in-season achievements, moves made, pictures, biographies... Whatever it is that makes your player(s) stand out above the rest of the potential 6th Men Candidates. Please keep your "pimping" relevant to the award thread you are in. REMEMBER: to qualify for 6th Man, you must have played more games off the bench than have started. NO EXCEPTIONS.
NEW RULE FOR THREADS: You are allowed to make one post about your player(s) (edits of your original post will be allowed). There will NOT be any goading or attacking other candidates to create nonsense drama like previous years. Any additional BS posted in threads will be deleted. The campaigning period officially ends when the sim occurs.
Voting period starts after final sim of regular season and will be due by DC Lock of 1st playoff sim. No exceptions!

Bobby Phills: The Ultimate 6th Man. Versatile in his positions (shooting guard or small forward). Bobby, when traded over last season, had a hard time adapting to the role of coming off the bench as our 6th Man. However, coming into this season, he embraced it. And his acceptance of this role showed on the court. His FG% skyrocketed 5.3% (from 41.9 to 47.2). His assist to turnover ratio also improved: from 1.47 to 1.93. His efficiency stats all improved (1.15 PPS to 1.24 PPS, 6.3 RR to 7.0 RR) while posting a 17.7 PER. He's not going for most improved player by any means, but Bobby has truly embraced his role with this team and deserves your vote for 6th Man of the Year. Without him, our team would be a whole lot different.

Antonio Davis: More than a title; the real thing Antonio is a story of season by season improvement. I could bring up accomplishments about his FG% SKYROCKETING 8% (higher) or his rebounding rate improving, but that's not what this award is about. This award is about who filled the role as 6th man best for his team. Antonio has shown flexibility to be able to play the 4 and 5 position well and efficiently. He provided efficient offense along with quantifiable defense. Add that to the fact that, so far, he's survived the LA medical staff, I think we all know who the real 6MOY is.

Before I get started, I want to ask Louie... Louie, do you have any idea who the sixth man of the year should be? Let me help you out then... SAM CASSELL ( link to player page). Yes, Broken Leg, left for DED Sam Cassell. Just ask the Warriors, he dropped 35 points on 11-for-21 shooting during our surprise Feb. 20 win over the Warriors, so he's got a little of that venom for teams that gave up on him. Cassell is posting a PER of 18.0 and averaging 1.39 points per shot. His individual +/- score is +2.2 points per game - the Hawks as a whole have a +/- of 2.6 ppg meaning that his offense is generally the catalyst that puts the Hawks over the top when they win. He actually has the best +/- of all players on the Hawks except Vlade Divac (whose +/- is incredibly inflated from his time with the Warriors) and Eric Williams (who has played 3 minutes all season so it's not a good sample size). And for those of you that prefer less of the advanced metrics and more traditional ones, he's putting up 11.6 ppg, 2.6 rpg, and 2.5 apg in just 23.0 minutes per game as of this writing. #votealien

Tharon Mayes:
The defensive identity for our second unit. He is only playing 25.3 minutes per game and he is currently 5th in the league in steals with 2.3 per game. Add in 2.5 assists and 10.2 points per game and you have your sixth man of the year.

Please consider Rex Chapman for 6th Man of the Year.
Rex is our catalyst off the bench. His superb shooting ability has carried our 2nd unit this season. He is averaging 14.9 pts per game coming off the bench every game this season. He is shooting nearly 40% from behind the arc, and can still defend a little bit; averaging 1 steal per game. If you are a fan of PER; take a look at his impressive 19.0, a career best for Rex.
Vote Rex for 6th Man of the Year!

Derrick Coleman 13.5 ppg, 6.9 rpg, actually plays defense and mostly because he was robbed of this award a few seasons ago

About 5th or 6th best in the league behind OPenny Kem(o)p. I have vowed to never argue with you again but this is a silly enough point for me to break that vow

Hubert Davis
* Shooting 47.3% from 3 and currently #3 in 3P% in the league. * 57.2% TS% * 18.7 PER * 88.5% FT shooter * Better D Efficiency (96.7) than Coleman, since that's the new measuring stick (Not an actual achievement, I just thought last night's posts were funny)

Tariq Abdul-Wahad
This would have been his stats if he scored every time he was in the game:
72 PPG 46 Rebounds 0 Assist (too busy scoring) 3 PPS
AND he plays defense (3rd best D eff on team)

That alone should take him out of the running for this award. Lakers suck #boycottballs

Vote for Hakeem Olajuwon! He deserves your vote seriously. Go look at his numbers. I don't want to steal that revelation from you by posting his stats here. Vote Hakeem for 6MOY!
