1/19 - T-Wolves @ Sonics (-6.5) The T-Wolves are coming off of a low scoring loss to the Pistons and the Sonics have retooled the team by adding Chris Gatling. Look for the Sonics to make a push in the second half of the season. I will take the Sonics at Home.
1/20 - Bucks (-4.5) @ Grizz From the team that received Gatling to the team that gave him away. Look for the Bucks to run away with this game even though it is on the road.
1/20 - Hawks @ Nets (-11.5) Even though they are on the road and playing a good Nets team, the point differential is too large for a team that only scores 95 a game against a good defensive team. Nets win but don't cover the spread.
1/20 - Heat @ Lakers (-6.5) The Heat are on a slide losing four straight. Look for the lakers to easily cover this spread at home winning by double digits.
1/23 - Spurs @ Knicks (-8.5) The Knicks are on a tear right now taking over the division by half a game. Look for D-Rob to dominate the underachieving Spurs.
1/27 - Blazers (-7.5) @ Magic Looking for a big game at home from Jason Kidd, who gets 20 points 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Magic not only cover the spread, but also get the win at home.
1/30 - Nuggets @ Mavs (-14.5) The Mavs will end up taking the game at home, but will not be able to cover the 14.5 point spread. The Nuggets will hang in the game for a while but won't be able to handle the low post game of the Mavs.

1/19 - T-Wolves @ Sonics (-6.5) Prior to the Gatling trade, I would have said the Wolves' front line will at least keep things close and possibly win outright. The entry of Gatling into the fray - who draws a ton of fouls and will be at home - means the Sonics have the bulk to battle Webber and the Hill brothers up front. I think the referees' early whistles are the difference here.
1/20 - Bucks (-4.5) @ Grizz This is the other side of the Gatling trade. I expect that even with Patrick Ewing, the Grizz go into freefall, and the now-healed Bucks (Big Z) will take full advantage.
1/20 - Hawks @ Nets (-11.5) This is one of those win-win picks for me. If the Nets crush the Hawks, I'm right (yay)! If the Hawks keep it close, I get to feel good about the direction of my team. The Hawks' defense should be able to keep it close, but I want the win-win.
1/20 - Heat @ Lakers (-6.5) The battle of two wounded teams; Eric Murdock is less important to the Heat as Payton's backup than Scott is to the Lakers as one of their starters. The Heat have been looking for another gear all season and never found it; the Lakers have shown flashes of brilliance. I think the Lake show, at home, can muster a pretty convincing win.
1/23 - Spurs @ Knicks (-8.5) The Spurs have a promising future, but the Knicks have a promising now. The Spurs have not been able to find their groove all season and no reason to think they'll find it against the Knicks, who should crush them.
1/27 - Blazers (-7.5) @ Magic The Blazers are looking strong this season, but the Magic are 12-3 at home and boast a record nearly as good as the Blazers. The Blazers may win, but that point spread is way to high for me... give me the Magic plus the points and don't be shocked if they win outright.
1/30 - Nuggets @ Mavs (-14.5) That's a huge point spread... but the Mavs have beaten the Nuggets in Denver by double-digit tallies both times they've met this season (10 and 15 points). If homecourt is worth three points of advantage over a neutral court game, flipping the location is a six-point swing... 16 and 21 points. It's a huge spread, but I think the Mavericks cover it. Besides, this is a "statement game" to let the Nuggets know they aren't going to catch the Mavs for the division and ever since their one-year tank-and-rebuild job, the Mavericks have been great in regular-season statement games.

Games: 1/19 - T-Wolves @ Sonics (-6.5): My team take this at home and cover the spread. Gatling really improves this defense. Sonics
1/20 - Bucks (-4.5) @ Grizz: "I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend" can't recover from the Gatling trade, and the Bucks take this game by double digits. Bucks
1/20 - Hawks @ Nets (-11.5): Nets win the game, but they do not cover the spread. Nets
1/20 - Heat @ Lakers (-6.5): The Lakers have a point to prove over the next few weeks, and I expect them to win big here. Lakers
1/23 - Spurs @ Knicks (-8.5): Knicks are a top team again this season, and I believe they take advantage fairly young Spurs team. Double digit win for the Knicks. Knicks
1/27 - Blazers (-7.5) @ Magic: The Magic upset the Blazers at home. The Blazers are not the same team on the road, and Coltsguy has a solid team. It will be a close game. Magic
1/30 - Nuggets @ Mavs (-14.5): The Nuggets are the new guys on the block, and they have been impressive. They lose this game to Darth, but they keep it in single digits. Nuggets

1/19 - T-Wolves @ Sonics (-6.5) 30 ppg, 10 rpg, with 2.5 blocks, thats Gatling against webber this season, and I expect it to continue in Seattle. New place same story
1/20 - Bucks (-4.5) @ Grizz Gotta take the Bucks here, Grizzlies accomplished a task with all the trades and it was not really to get better. With all the moving pieces, Bucks should have an easy win unless Davis and Drazen find some Magic and go bananas
1/20 - Hawks @ Nets (-11.5) Ron Harper will inject some life into the Hawks in Detlefs absence. The Nets will win, but not cover the 11.5
1/20 - Heat @ Lakers (-6.5) A battle of two elite PGs, KJ is still top dog though. The Lakers will miss Scott's defense on Jackson but I still like them to win
1/23 - Spurs @ Knicks (-8.5) David Robinson and Reggie will be too much at home for the Spurs to take on and will be showing off why they lead the East and the Spurs are fighting for a playoff spot
1/27 - Blazers (-7.5) @ Magic Im giving the Blazers a win but theres no way they cover that at home when the Magic are so good in their building. Portland has the right mix of team play to be able to pull off the win in Orlando
1/30 - Nuggets @ Mavs (-14.5) Huge spread of the sim, I give it to the Mavs, who have already beaten up on the surging Nuggets, and will show why the Midwest is theirs once again. However I dont think they cover the spread
