Beginning today until the last sim of the season, feel free to post stats, in-season achievements, moves made, pictures, biographies... Whatever it is that makes your yourself stand out above the rest of the GMs. Please keep your "pimping" relevant to the award thread you are in.
NEW RULE FOR THREADS: You are allowed to make one post about yourself (edits of your original post will be allowed). There will NOT be any goading or attacking other candidates to create nonsense drama like previous years. Any additional BS posted in threads will be deleted. The campaigning period officially ends when the sim occurs.
Voting period starts Monday (8/4) and will be due by Wednesday's (8/6) DC Lock. No exceptions!

Welp, I guess I will start off. Really didn't want have to pimp myself out. Contrary to popular belief, I don't like to have to do this. But I guess someone has to start us off. Let me begin by saying that this has been the hardest season for me to run a team due to problems at work. While it has been a miserable time for me personally, I am proud to be able to present the following. Case for the Raptors: - Currently 48-29 (started 1-6, 47-23 since sim 1)
- Currently lead the Central Division
- Currently would be 2nd seed in EC playoffs
- All of this despite only 2 Blue/Blue players on my team.
- 3 new starters from last season
- 24-13 ROAD record
- 17-9 vs Western Conference
- Shown the ability to make players better. Russell +2.9 PER, Grant +.5 PER (despite age and TC hit), not to mention players that have left and played worse.
- Stockton would be only deviation from this rule at only -0.8 PER despite being 34 and getting Slaughtered during TC
- Have to constantly deal with BS from the commish.

I'll go second...
Clippers: 49-28 Record....Improved by 4 games with a sim to go. 1 win gets franchise's first 50 game winning season. 6.5 point differential compared to 2.3 last season 3 All Stars compared to 0 last season. Got team to play "team" ball with the highest assist(1.4 more than 2nd) and lowest turnovers in the league.
Key Players Lost(Trades): Dennis Rodman Cliff Robinson Jeff Hornacek Derek Harper
Key Players Acquired(Trades): Hakeem Olajuwan (took hit in TC, but improved PER by 1.9) Rex Chapman(trade deadline acquisition) Vernon Maxwell Avery Johnson(later traded) Haywoode Workman
My personal favorite 3 more people on average came to Clipper games. Haha.

Im about to make the playoffs for the 6th straight time. I made one "big" move in acquiring Rony Seikaly. I've put my team in a position to win the division and get a Top 4 seed.
Thats basically why I deserve your 3rd place votes.

Welp, I guess I'll put the cherry on top of the proverbial cupcake. Really didn't want to have to do this. I truly do hate talking about my team. But I guess someone has to finish this thing off with a legitimate nominee. Let me start off by saying this has been the hardest season for me as a GM. I have plenty of real life things going on. As most of you know I have a 11 week old son and well honestly it's gets hard to crunch numbers, breakdown stats, AND input DCs while holding a baby. Also I've yet to have sex since the birth of my child. This has put a strain on my sim league duties as you can imagine. BUT DESPITE ALL THAT I AM PROUD TO PRESENT THE FOLLOWING: Case for the Dallas Mavericks - Current Record 61-16(+5 more wins for last sim)
- Currently leading Midwest division by 11.5 games(Hope I can hold onto it!)
- Currently would be 2nd seed in WC playoffs(But only 1/2 game back of 1st seed)
- All of this despite only 2 Blue/Blue players on my team.(And a purple/purple with a few green/greens)
- 4 new starters from last season
- 26-12 ROAD record
- 40-8 vs. WC
- I GOT RID OF PATRICK EWING
I could go on but I really hate talking about my team. So I'll let you decide

Every year, I make pretty much the same case, but hopefully this year, I have some pieces come together to give myself a chance.
Coaching: I have the best record in the West (for now at least) at 62-15. Some will always say "But you have Kemp. Anyone can win." Yeah, I do have Kemp. I drafted him, and he turned into a beast. I can't help that. But I feel I put a great team around him and we've proven again this year that we are a great team. We have the best offensive efficiency ever by far, and have tied for the best rebounding % ever with the 1990-91 Atlanta Hawks.
GM'ing: I had 2 huge wholes last year, and I addressed both this year. 1) lack of rebounding 2) no center. To address #1, I made a somewhat controversial move in trading P/P Dennis Scott for B/B Cedric Ceballos. While Scott is maybe the better player, Ceballos was a perfect fit with Kemp. He has chipped in 21 ppg and added 9 boards. For #2, I went and I traded 2 firsts for Rik Smits. Not only did Smits fill the glaring whole at center, I was able to keep my core together to acquire him. He boosted my offense, defense, and rebounding.
Overcoming Adversity: I traded for Sam Cassell as a B/B rookie with all the potential in the world to be a 20 ppg scorer along with being a capable facilitator and defender. One broken leg and one horrible TC later, he was a Y/Y with no defense or facilitating and a scoring game that relied solely on his athleticism. As a 5th scoring option, he is scoring 13.3 ppg with a 59.3% TS%. He owns the highest offensive efficiency of anyone on my team.
Consistency over the Years: I am one of 3 teams to make the playoffs each year (the only one in the West), and am the only team in the league to have made it at least to the second round every year. My team has consistently been a contender. Over the last 4 years, my team has been seeded 1, 3, 1, and now 1 or 2 this year. I get faulted for some reason every year for having Kemp and drafting well/trading well from the beginning and having a good team to start off with. Well this year, in addition to the usual consistency, I have made good and splashy moves and have overcome adversity which have become two huge factors in this award.
Other stats: 27-10 ROAD record (Fewest losses in league) 14.7 differential (Largest in West/2nd in league) 13 game lead in Pacific 3 new starters Sold out every home game

Minnesota Timberwolves had a team that barely scraped by to get the 8th seed last year. We had a hard-fought battle with the Warriors, and people thought we were a cute little story. Over the offseason, I sent my first round pick and two bench players to get Sean Elliott, Keith Jennings, and Tyrone Hill. Elliott and Jennings were reliable players on my bench, and Tyrone Hill stepped in to become a surprisingly good starting center. Why did he have to be a starting center? I traded Clyde Drexler, Ervin Johnson, and my first round pick in 96 for Jordan, and it completely turned around my franchise. That trade, coupled with a completely new depth chart on my part, made the following changes to my team: PRE-MJ: Team Offense was averaging ~104.1ppg, good for 13th in the league POST-MJ: Team Offense averaging 106.8 ppg, good for 7th in the league PRE-MJ: Team Defense was allowing ~106.1ppg, good (or bad) for 28th in the league POST-MJ: Team Defense allowing 99.8, good (very good) for 10th in the league PRE-MJ: Differential was negative, don't have the ranks on that but it was pretty poopy POST-MJ: 7.0 differential, good for 4th in the league. Oh, and records, because I guess that's important: PRE-MJ: 15-17, barely scraping by as the 8th seed, doomed to face another loss to the 1st seeded Warriors POST-MJ: 49-27 (that's 34-10, folks), 3rd seed, will end up anywhere between 3-5 It wasn't just the trade for Michael Jordan. It was the gameplan, the previous trade for depth, and the minor tweaks that got me here. My team is a Top 5 team in the PBSL, and judged by many as a serious contender for a championship. Before this year, no one realistically thought that. I made it happen. There are tons of good candidates for GMOY, but at the end of the day, no one had as drastic a change from pretender to contender.

Let me start off by saying no one deserves to be GM of the year more than me. I already got 4 votes from highly respected GMs one of them had a 33 game win streak and one stupid ass Western Conference Champs pick from RPF Western Conference Champs: SpursGMOY: Eazy-PCurrent Record 27-51 (longest win streak 2 games) Currently trailing Midwest division by 34.5 games (Soundwave is hoping I can hold onto it!) Currently would be 4th wrose seed in WC playoffs (But only 1/2 game back of 5th wrose in the entire league) All of this despite only 4 Blue/Blue players on my team.(And a green/blue with a 1 green/greens) 4 returning starters from last season 11-28 ROAD record 16-35 vs. WC Plus I am the king of injuries and the reigning preseason GM of the Year (which is a curse that's compared to the Madden curse). Why not make it official. I GOT RID OF Terry Cummings. Please do the right thing and vote for me as your GMOY. I hope this model bouncing tits Gif can persuade you other 25 GM's cause as I stated earlier I already have 4 votes. Thank you God bless you and God Bless America.

This will probably one of the few times that I could be considered a legit candidate for this award, so I'll throw my hat in here. Look at my team. Yeah, I have 5 Blue/Blues, but 3 out of those two aren't your typical Blue/Blue players. I only have two legitimate scoring threats. I'm an extremely young team with a thin, inexperienced bench. I gave away more talent than I acquired this season. I'm 5th in the East. Not much else to say really. This season, as well as my cap situation, speaks for itself.

If this is an award for the best team, I shouldn't win this award. If this is an award for the biggest trape, I shouldn't win this award. If this is an award for biggest skype troll, I shouldn't win this award. If this is an award for the GM that improved his roster both in the current, short, and long term and helps to make the LEAGUE better, I absolutely think I deserve consideration. Here's why:
1. I'm typing this up on my phone. That requires dedication, and strong thumbs, a quality we all want in our GMs. I apologize for lack of fun lime-green formatting.
2. In Season improvement - My team was 25 games under .500 at the halfway point. Last 2 years, my team finished an average of 37 games under .500. It was headed for another similar (and maybe more abysmal) season. I had some options though. I could coast to the worst record, take my chances with the lotto gods, and pray that I got Kobe. But I didn't. Tanking might be the way to go, but to quote The Bleachers new hit single, "I wanna get better." My moves saw my team go .500 the rest of the way, you might scoff at only a .500 record, but it's a dramatic improvement from the last 2.5 seasons.
3. Long-Term Outlook - I'll have the core of my front court together for the next 4 years at least with enough cap flexibility to improve my back-court. If my draft pick hits, I can keep it and improve for next season, if not, my 1997 pick could turn out useful to do that. Either way my long term outlook is dramatically improved.
4. Draft Savvy - I've already bored you with a Joe Smith love fest, so I won't take you through that. To be honest, I had two Draft targets. Stack and Joe Smith (Wig can confirm in a trade message where I cursed The Lakers for grabbing Stack at 7). As I still thought Smith was an impact player (and with the rest of the draft middling) I traded an expiring, but useful, Derrick McKey who wasn't in my long term plans and my 12 pick for the 8 pick and 10 points. I grabbed Joe Smith and have been extremely pleased. He's only gotten better as I've added talent around him. I don't think you should get credit for hitting the lotto and nailing the pick. I absolutely think you should get credit for trading up and grabbing a top-3 rookie at the 8 spot.
5. Roster Improvement via Trade - Which side of this list do you want assuming you had no other players, cuz let's face it...I didn't:
Previous Nuggets Assets: 1998 pick Allan Houston Larry Bird (expiring) Reggie Williams (expiring)
Current Nuggets Assets: Top 3 protection on 98 pick Elden Campbell Grant Long Rick Fox Terry Dehere (better TS%, PER, and Defense than Allan Houston - don't fault him for his no-name)
My roster improved at a level not seen in the league this year, without the addition of a slam-dunk top 3 pick or anything like that.
Conclusion - I don't have the best team, and there are a few GMs that I really like what they did this year, but out of all GMs this year, I improved my team the most. I won my trades (in spite of mass criticism), and I seized an opportunity to rebuild in what I consider the "right" way. But I'll leave that up to y'all.
Thanks for reading! (I'm obviously hard at work).
