Team 1 and 2 salaries are the current season's salaries of players being traded. This is the team they are being traded FROM. Team 1 and 2 cap is the amount of cap space each team has this season. Maybe my problem is not using Firefox like it suggests. I checked my trade which clearly keeps them under the cap now and it said Nope either way I put the 11.5M of cap space the Magic have. I put a 0 for the other since I am over. Figured out why this was happening and corrected (yay spurious minus signs!) Also edited page to make things a little clearer (added "Outgoing Salaries" behind Team 1 and Team 2 so it's clear which player salary amounts go where).

So Wig can you explain why it works like it is? I just tried it and it allows it. Because you pressed override. Mystery solved

So Wig can you explain why it works like it is? I just tried it and it allows it. The game probably allows more than 10% wiggle room. The NBA's current CBA allows trades when salaries match to within 25% for over the cap teams. I assume this is the number FBB uses.

The league rules we created say 10%. This is more restrictive than the 25% built into the game.
I am fine with changing the league rule to match the game, but until we do, the league rule is 10%.
This is similar to using pernts for the luxury tax... Teams that haven't paid tax can't do certain stuff like extend players even though FBB allows it... We are manually adding extra restrictions with the luxury tax ... Similarly we are manually adding extra trade restrictions by using a different salary match percent than FBB.

What league rule? I've been using what this program allows me to since this league started. ill get asked to try it, ill put the trade in the program, try it and reply. I've been going off of what the program allows this whole time.

Because honestly I don't want to be checking a trade checker before every single trade I process.

What's easiest for you is to change the match percent to whatever FBB uses (25% at a guess though you may want to test to be sure). I have no problem with changing it, BTW... Makes it easier to get trades done. I am just a bit of a pedant.

Sign a veteran minimum scrub to two over thecap teams (use league editor if you have to).
Use league editor to set scrub A's salary to 10 mill. Set scrub B's salary to 13 mill. Attempt trade (should fail).
Reduce scrub B's salary to 12.9 mill. Attempt trade (should fail).
Reduce scrub B's salary to 12.8 mill... etc.
When the trade is accepted the percent should be obvious.
