Considering all of us find some way to discount the perineal contenders, I still paid the Lakers a compliment. Did you see the Pistons on there? I feel like you took what I said personally and I'm sorry about that.
Essentially this award is about to get ridiculous when the only guys who should have a dog in the fight are immediately written off for being too good on a year by year basis. Honestly, I'm personally most impressed by Kings turning their team into a playoff contender after realizing he wasn't tanking right. Seriously, the Celtics and Warriors made big signings and each won 60+ games because of them. Because that most improved GM award is not easily determined this year, this award is up for grabs and you see everyone throwing their hats in.

So the award has gone from popularity contest, to most improved, to who overcame the most injuries and TC nerfing contest?!? I can't wait to see the qualifications for next year. LONG LIVE GMOY* Conroy, Scott nailed it. STFU, the award you won was different then what happened last year, what is happening this year, and whatever damn argument people want to use next year. Your team has a legit argument here. Don't pretend like the criteria doesn't change in your favor.

Well, I appreciate at least one serious word being said about my team. Maybe I get what this whole purple sucker thing is about after all.
Thanks Tray.

If your team had gelled a little bit better quicker, this may not have been a race. Oh well, guess we'll have to see how these votes go. Would be a good year to troll and put three non-playoff teams on my ballot.

As for the Raptors, they finished second last year and pretty much put up the same argument this year. If they win the division I'll give my vote to them. Otherwise, there is no difference between the guys who get written off for having a good team going into the year and the Raptors.

If I have to beat you so be it, I already have thrice this season. BTW, it wasn't Magic that got hurt this year. It was Pervis. Just about like Balls said, an All-leaguer (Barkley) and a starting center.

Ever since I took up the Punisher moniker, I've been punishing other teams in my quest to win the Midwest. That alone is GMOY material.

For the 3rd straight year, the computer has chosen me as GMOY. This year for the first time however, I believe the game is correct. Over the last 2 years, arguably no one has made better moves than me. I took a team that was 62-20 and then moved Ron Harper for Dennis Scott, a young budding star who in training camp went to b/p. I noticed the Hornets were starting to become better and moved their pick in 95 for Sam Bowie, the Pacers 95 pick, and the Nuggets 96 pick. The next day, I traded that pick for Sam Cassell. In free agency this year, I signed Glen Rice to a max contract. Then, in midseason, I traded 5 points for Byron Irvin.
Arguably, my best point for GMOY is coaching. I took a team that most thought would not match and got off to the hottest start in league history at 28-2. My top 4 players all had true shooting % over 60%. I had the highest offensive efficiency in league history. I tied the 1990-91 Hawks for the best record in league history. I overcame an injury to Sam Cassell for the last 28 games and an injury to his backup, Doc Rivers, and still beat every team in the West by at least 7 games.
No, I did not come from the bottom or from being handcuffed. Last year, I won 51 games. This year I won 65. Is it my fault that I collected 4 players under 26 who, exepectedly, had great training camps? Is it my fault that I wasn't terrible last year so I wasn't able to make a huge jump? Should I be punished in the GMOY vote for having no one who got nerfed because I set myself up well with good moves? Even if you're looking for criteria like that, my starting point guard got injured for the season and lost 50 rating points. That's as bad as any other players for these GMOY candidates got nerfed.
That's my case. #VoteBowToTheBill23GMOY

I guess colors in training camp matters. Jim Jackson who nobody sees as a superstar sf went from b/b to b/p. And Gary Payton went from b/p to p/p.
