Conroy is the sim league Donald Sterling. I just read the story. What's hilarious is I don't know what they expect the league to do. After all, he owns the team. Not like they can just boot him out of his role like he's a CEO or something. He's an old racist, but there is little that this PC world can do to "fix" that. Plus, you think Los Angeles as a fan base honestly cares enough to stop supporting their only playoff team mid first round. Give me a break.

Baseball suspended former Reds owner Marge Schott for two years in the 90s for making racist comments. Not sure if the NBA offices have the same authority.

The league is exclusive and I'm pretty sure the other owners could have a lot to say about him keeping his majority share of the team. I think at the end of the day they could force him into selling his stake. Going to look into it more. P.S. What a moron this man is.

The NBA is a sport where the athletes are predominantly African Americans; i can't understand why he bought a team. I can't for the life of me figure it out, unless it was some twisted power play in his head.

Pretty screwed up view of the world, but you can hear it in his words. "I give them food, clothes, houses, cars, etc."

"I give them food, clothes, houses, cars, etc." He's been a known racist for years but money talks and like Roger Goddel of the NFL, Adam Silver works for the owners of these NBA Teams. Nothing will be done most likely and this story will probably be forgotten in a few weeks when the Clippers are far removed from post season play whether it's because they weren't good enough to advance or just sabatoged it because they wanted to do it to send a message to Sterling. Also he makes money off of owning it so that's a fairly good reason to own it. But the clippers were nothing before they drafted Blake Griffin. Sterling will continue to own the team. I'm not saying it's right but the rest of the owners don't give a shit to boot him out when the NBA as a whole has trouble just having people but teams from going bankrupt. It's a media cycle.

No one can "boot" him. So let's not blame anyone for that. They will have to think outside of the box. I don't believe the this will be forgotten in a few weeks. In fact, I think free agency is going to be nearly impossible for the Clippers, and this CP3/Griffin era will be a hugely declining asset. And considering they only have CP3 and Griffin for 3 years until the player option things could look bleak. The reason i bring this up, is because this is part of the out of the box thinking the owners will have to do. The future for the Clippers is all but screwed imho, but they pretty much have to convince him to sell. And what motivation does he have to sell if he can milk sell outs for 3 more years? I think this is where the league office i wll have to get tricky. They may be able to work with the Players association to allow players to void their contracts due to a hotile work enviornment or something along those lines and let Blake Griffin and CP3 move to another team, or at least tell sterling it's on the table to force him. The way I see it is, you tell him you're prepared to make the move. Then you say, we can do this two ways, 1. The easy way: You sell the team full of assets and get full value 2. The hard way: Sell your team without the likes of cp3 and Griffin and lose probably 100 or 200 million in the sale..

And the onus is on the owners more than silver in this situation. Silver is employed by the owners. It is an exclusive club of sorts. They have to vote every owner into the club and they can do many things to force him out. Like you said Scott, he can do it the easy way or the hard way.

I would love it if they forced Sterling to sell the Clippers to Seattle. I think it would be a nice apology for taking away Durant and the Sonics to give them CP3/Griffin and the Clippers.
