Rank | Trending | Team | Description | 1. | Same | Boston Celtics | After starting the year as the clear favorites, Boston has been challeneged with a key injury and responded by keeping the ship afloat. | 2. | Up | Houston Rockets | Shaq is blossoming into the 1 man wrecking ball we knew he could, but he's got help. The rest of the league is on notice. | 3. | Up | L.A. Lakers | 19-3 in last 22. Easily the hottest team in the league. Defensive rebounding an an Achillies heel. team in the past has been prone to roller coaster rides. | 4. | Same | Indiana Pacers | The sun has risen, clouds are in the sky and the Pacers are good again. | 5. | Down | Dallas Mavs | Mavs came out this year like they were shot out of a cannon. Need to adjust to new roster and need to find offensive rythm. Easily a title contender already. | 6. | Same | Golden State Warriors | Probably the scariest team right now in the West if they can get it together. Trade for Cassel an excellent long term and short term move. Have been on fire. | 7. | Down | Detroit Pistons | Pistons still in the driver seat for the Central. Have played 3 more away games than Pacers. Have gone 3-3 in last sim tinkering. Look for them to rise after the ASG. | 8. | Up | San Antonio Spurs | The Spurs have quietly put themselves in contention for the Midwest. An elite offensive team with great ball movement and rebounds well. They do the little things. | 9. | Up | Toronto Raptors | Despite a Magic injury GM is figuring out how to use his team. Preseason hype is coming into fruitation. Hope is alive in Toronto. Will they get it together for a run at the Central? | 10. | Up | New Jersey Nets | Nets probably aren't contenders and are pretty average at most things, except winning games. They do that very well. Have at 20 ppg and one at 18 ppg. Balance is the key in New Jersey. | 11. | Down | Seattle SuperSonics | Elite defensive team. Had a very favorable schedule to start the season. Need to put it together offensively like the other defensive juggernaut in Dallas to be feared. Can win any night against anyone though. | 12. | Down | New York Knicks | Knicks are fighting to not play one of the big 4 in the East in Round 1. A playoff matchup in detroit is favorable which could be the 6 seed. They need to fight to keep that. | 13. | Same | Atlanta Hawks | hard to know what to expect from the Hawks. Have an elite backcourt rotation but injuries and inconsistancies haunt them. Smits growing into the real deal at Center. | 14. | Down | Sacramento Kings | Will be a top 4 in the West and win 50 game. Book it. Still figuring things out. When they're ready, they'll start winning games and ascending this list. | 15. | Up | Portland Trailblazers | after a 1-7 start this team has played great basketball capping their run with a win in Dallas. will need to trade one of Jackson Kerr or Smith for frontcourt help if they want to sit at the dinner table. | 16. | Same | Utah Jazz | 3 games over .500 and I think what you're seeing is what the Jazz are. A middle of the pack team that project to be a dfirst round exit. Key team to watch at the trading deadline. | 17. | Same | Philly 76ers | 4 game winning streaks. 4 Game losing streaks. Everyone welcome to the carnival. | 18. | Down | L.A. Clippers | Clippers falling after tremendous start. Have been in this position for 3 year and injuries aren't helping. Should hover around .500. | 19. | Down | Washington Wizards | Trade dealine watch. After a hot start the injury bug has struck again in Washington. They should hire the Suns trainign staff. Wait Hakeem was injured.. IM BRINING FACTS PEOPLE NOT OPINIONS. | 20. | Same | Miami Heat | Heat made the playoffs a preseason goal, but a questionable draft selection along with the dealing up that questionable player for a questionable package has left them hamstrung. Playoffs unlikely. | 21. | Same | Chicago Bulls | Mullin and Stockton are bright spots, but after selling Seikely for a crazy low price they're hurting. We will see if they can get this engine started. | 22. | Up | Phoenix Suns | Suns starting to rise a little late. 8.5 back from a playoff spot. Inprobable, not impossible this early. | 23. | Up | Charlotte Hornets | Starting to figure it out some. | 24. | Down | VanMemphis Grizzlies | Disapointing season in VanMemphis for this owner's high standards. Daughterly didn't solve all of their porblems and began selling some pieces. Should stay in the 20 range for the season. | 25. | Down | Minnesota Timberwolves | Progress, albiet slow. Despite the record they're growing and barring anything catistrophic will cruise past last years 18 win mark. | 26. | Down | Cleveland Cavs | After selling the farm they are sliding further and further down the list. MNore Bucks fans show up to the games in than Cavs fans. Hold on to your picks people. | 27. | Up | Denver Nuggets | 3-7 in Last 10. Doesn't have a whole lot going for them. If they're smart this will be a slow and patient build. | 28. | Same | Orlando Magic | 2-8 in Last 10. | 29. | Down | Milwaukee Bucks | 1-9 in last 10. Gets upset when they win. nuff Said |

Counting the record so far as of 1/22/93...
151-167 = Central 137-142 = Midwest
Granted Central has one more team in the division than the Midwest but the Midwest has a better winning % than Central right now.

To finish the rest of the divisions.... This is how we all stack up as a Division Party.
1. Pacific = 150-123 = 7 Teams 2. Midwest = 137-142 = 7 Teams 3. Atlantic = 134-140 = 7 Teams 4. Central = 151-167 = 8 Teams
That's the best to worst. Division speaking. 572-572 Total games played if you combine it all.

I agree with Boston being the top spot for now. They were the best team before Zo's injury. I expect the Raptors to rise once Tragic is back, but we know how Sound likes to experiment. The Pacific is the best division from top to bottom and their worst team the Suns are playing alot better and will be tough from here on out. The winner of that division should make a great number two seed
