GM Quailmen: Thank you everyone for your attendance. I'm sure there are quite a few questions about recent events and we'll get to those questions shortly.
GM Quailmen: Obviously is the feel of change in the air, and I'm not talking about that Milwaukee brisk October breeze. After a disappointing loss in the playoffs to our division rival, something needed to give. We had a team that played hard day in and day out, leaving it all on the court. However, we also had a team who's average age was 30.5 years old and had the feel of the approaching our ceiling very quickly. After 3 seasons of 2nd Round Exits from the playoffs, the front office started to notice a trend and that a shake up may be what is needed in order to breathe fresh air in the gassed lungs of our organization. Enter Red Weekend. I don't remember the exact time when heads started to roll, but we knew that it would have to start at the top and trickle down from there. So before we move to the present, I wanted to take a moment to thank those who are no longer with us today:
GM Quailmen: Each of these gentlemen were key members of our team, putting aside individual agendas to create and strive for a team oriented mindset. We wish each of them the best of luck in their new homes. Also, we would also like to take this brief moment to remind all other GMs that Terry Porter is available for trade, as well. We are interested in acquiring future assets and/or young players.
GM Quailmen: Now many may ask why? Why would you move these talented guys (rumor had it that polls ranked our lineup as #3 in the League) for pennies and throw away a chance at a championship? However, the decisions were made in the best interest of our organization's future, putting aside personal attachments to look to improve our team long-term. We didn't trade these gentlemen to middling teams either; each of their destinations were disclosed with the player with putting them in a good position to excel and succeed in mind. But why? Why did we do it you ask? Well, sometimes risks need to be taken to get where you want to be.
GM Quailmen: But now let's discuss the key players remaining in a Bucks uniform along with our newest additions... Returning players include both Robert Horry and Anthony Mason. Robert is primed to become a leader on this team in only his second year. Throughout last season and this off-season, he has continued to add to his game, improving on both ends of the court. Anthony also was one of our biggest surprises from off-season training. He is looking for a breakout season, with the distinct possibility of being a Most Improved Player candidate. We feel THAT strongly about his progress made thus far.
GM Quailmen: Now for offseason acquisitions... First off, we've added some youth through this past draft that we are proud to introduce. Ladies and gentlemen, Antonio Davis! We loved the potential oozing out of Antonio and fought hard to get back into the draft to snag him; rumors say that he was highly coveted among other teams and was considered one of the best value picks in the draft. Antonio came out of the gates running hard, not only improving much further than we had anticipated, but showing us new sides to his game. We are thrilled to have him with our club.
GM Quailmen: Our next acquisition is a familiar face... Mike Iuzzuolino! Mike's a guy that we snagged back in 1991 offseason during free agency; he plays with a huge chip on his shoulder, and the continued and steady improvement in his game yearly speaks volumes. We were forced to move him last season when looking to acquire Terry Porter, but are thrilled that he is back home in his original team colors.
GM Quailmen: Our next acquisition is another player who we loved in the draft, but couldn't move back in to get him... Lucious Harris! Lucious will come in immediately and start at the 2 guard spot for us, replacing Dell Curry. He has some pretty big shoes to fill, but we whole-heartedly believe that he can make a difference for our club.
Now we'll be taking questions... Please!

Clark Kent, Daily Planet At what exact moment did you decide to become invested in The Book of Darth? Did you 2 spoon Friday night? Did he leave a small part of himself on you? (rumor has it that he is quite fertile.)

Nick Melon; Charlotte Observer: with obtaining so many picks in the 1096 draft, is there one person you covet like another GM attempted to do in this past years draft and couldn't get close enough to grab?

It seems many teams are trying to copy the Mavs rebuild. Their is inherent risk there. Why would a team with a legit shot at a championship blow it up, and how long do you think this rebuild will take? This reminds me of the PR Sim League Bucks...

There are some fans in Milwakee dubbing you Ian Quitman because of your fear to step up to the challenge of beating the East's top seeds. What is your response to these claims ?
Also, it's worth noting you've kept a descent amount of talent on this team still. Are you looking to keep Dealin' Dougs open a but longer or are you ok with how things stand.

(rumor has it that he is quite fertile.) Thanks for the question, Clark. I'm not sure what this "Book of Darth" you speak of is. But if you referring to our REBUILD, then I would go as far to say that the thought came up after our heartbreaking loss in Detroit. It was always there sitting and waiting, but I wasn't really ready to make that move to change the Bucks direction until Friday.
Nothing about 2 spoon, but I vaguely remember 2 Chainz from Friday night.
And lastly, if he left a part of himself on me, then it wouldn't matter if he was fertile or not

The 1096 draft class was pretty deep in and among itself, with amazing players like Sir Bartholomew Riggles and Lawrence the Trebuchet Smith.
However, in the 1996 draft, there isn't one particular player we covet specifically as the draft is so far away. BUT we love the idea of collecting assets that could potentially help us make bigger moves down the line.

Nick Melon; Charlotte Observer: I myself was coveting Riggles because of his slaughter or be slaughtered policy personally. But the 1996 draft class was what I was referring to in the original question and I guess a momentary lapse of years happened.

I would like to think of our build as one slightly different from the Mavs. If anything, I think it is appearing more like the Celtics at this point in regards to collecting future picks for aging veterans. The idea of a rebuild had been floating in our minds since last season; however, with the trade of Wilkins for Horry, it appeared we had mitigated the need to rebuild slightly. However, after losing in the post season one more time, the idea came back to the front of our minds. With teams like the Celtics and Pistons being younger and built to outlast our previous team's composition, we decided to sell high on our assets before letting them depreciate over the course of a couple seasons/training camps. We'd rather bite than be bitten.
As for how long will this rebuild take? I can imagine 2 seasons; 3 tops. We do not plan to expedite this process a la Mavs and Lakers rebuild. Patience is a virtue and we do not mind taking our time.

That's cute. We always had clever fans following our team What I envision doing with our plan is to build a team better than the team that had the foundation of Kevin Willis and Dell Curry. That is not to be disrespectful to them at all, but we want to build a franchise that can outlast the youth movement taking place in the East's top teams.
As for "Dealin' Dougs", that shop is always open and always willing to talk. EVERYTHING is on the table.

Sports Guy Bill Simmons here, what type of team are you trying to build. It sounds like you will take your time with it, so that you can get it how you want it. Is there a specific team you are trying to build, defensive minded, offense, or strong in any one particular area?

You got that right; slow rebuild is how we foresee it. Milwaukee love defense. We are a defense-oriented organization... hence the Tank. *rimshot* But seriously, in the past we had forgone defense for offense and learned from our mistakes. That is the plan going forward. Rebounding and Defense.

Woody Paige, Denver Post.
Can you really trot anyone on your team out and expect them to have faith their heads won't be the next to roll off the chopping block? Also, how do you respond to allegations you were riding shotgun with Jim Irsay?

Woody Paige, Denver Post. Can you really trot anyone on your team out and expect them to have faith their heads won't be the next to roll off the chopping block? Also, how do you respond to allegations you were riding shotgun with Jim Irsay? What's the old mantra? Play each game like it's your last. We posted that up on the bulletin boards in the locker room... right below the adverts for moving vans. But seriously, we'll play our best players as long as they are here with us.... however, if you do see someone notable *cough*Porter*cough* playing fewer minutes, then it could be indicative of an imminent move... AND NOT TANKING.
As for Jim Irsay, the only thing he's shotgunning is a Milwaukee's Best NAW MEAN
