No offense, but I am definitely not a fan of that. Depth is VERY important in this version. Injuries are way more then you are used to, even on a 50 setting. Not that I would liek it in any draft.

Very good idea Wig. I wouldn't mind switching to that format a round earlier (Round 5), we could be done with this draft before the week is out.

One reason I suggested doing rounds 6-10 is that everyone gets exactly one "Semi-Automatic" round of 5 where they are first in line, second in line, third in line, fourth in line, and fifth in line (some teams near the folds of the draft, like the Jazz, might be second and third in line in the same round, but the general idea holds). Another reason is that it takes 14 hours (8 am to 10 pm) of continuous activity from at least one of the three admins and that's a lot to ask of them. Every round we extend this format adds another 3 hours or so to the total. I'm not sure I'd want to spread semi-auto picks across two days.

Also, assuming we continue lowering the time between picks in rounds 4 and 5 as we have from 1 to 2 to 3 (particularly if we drop it to one hour per pick for round 4 and 5), I think there's a really good chance Round 5 is done by the end of Friday, setting up Saturday as the semi-auto portion of the draft (between college football games). Nobody should complain about being in meetings until 11 on Saturday.

Nuts to the Timberwookies for grabbing PF Nance. I was really torn between him and Pervis Ellison, but hoped not to have two of my first three picks be "over 30." Was hoping to have picked Nance up in Round 4.

I REALLY loved Wig's idea until this part "Then we auto-sim the rest of the draft without lists." Call it the control freak in me. I hope I am not the only guy who cares who the last three players on his team is. Obviously it's a great idea, and gives us the best of both worlds, but yeah I would still prefer some control over the last few players on my team if it means anything.

Thanks. I didn't love his age either, but seeing as I have a 28 and a 27 year old, I figured a few more years wouldn't hurt. 

That being said, Ellison was a great choice.

It's about the vote man. I'm ok with people disagreeing, it's not my decision, it's the league's. If you guys decide to do it the other way, you've got my full support (I voted for regular snake and we're not doing that).

I took into account that Rounds 10 and 11 are tied for the lead in the "which round should we sim the rest of the draft" thread and assumed like it or not we're going to be going full auto in either round 10 or 11 anyway. So not trying to shut you out, scar, just looking at what the overwhelming favorite of when to take it to full auto was anyway.

If people are willing to go semi-automatic the whole rest of the draft (rounds 4-13), I'm cool with that, too; it would take 2 days on that schedule to do the whole thing... but we'd be starting earlier (since there's only 2 picks left in Round 3)... but I'm not sure there's enough warning time now to start Round 4 on semi-auto today. Still, we could tomorrow morning from "whereever we got to at the end of today" - probably most of the way through Round 4 - and that would mean Friday and Saturday run semi-auto and we're done some time Saturday afternoon.

Understood. FOr what it's worth I too voted for normal snake style as well. I haven't made one complaint about the new style either. Also I have come to kind of like the winning draft style as well.

Then we auto-sim the rest of the draft without lists.

Doing it this way lets every owner know exactly when to check in and when the draft will be done. For example, as the Hawks, I know I need to check in:

1. around 9 am to see who's been taken so far and get my list of 5 players in before 9:30 am.
2. around noon to see who's been taken and get my list of 5 more players in before 12:30 pm
3. Around 2 pm to see who's been taken and get my next list in before 2:30 pm.
4. Around 5 pm to see who's been taken and get my next list in before 5:30 pm.
5. Around 9 pm to see who's been taken and get my final list in before 9:30 pm.

This means I don't have to watch the forums all day like a teenage girl waiting for my phone to ring but I can be confident that nobody will be waiting on me and that I'll be able to pretty much draft who I want if I take the time to put in a list.

I really like this idea, but for rounds 11-12-13

Your core 8 are your most important players, and you should own those players... once everyone has those, we go semi-auto the next day and finish the thing in a day.

When did all this auto pick crap start anyway. All of a sudden the people who picked in the last half of the draft have to wait two turns until they pick, and they are trying to move the league to auto draft. That's bull crap. Simming before round 10 is crazy. I want control over my roster and their backups since injuries are more prevalent.

I would FULLY support this. No worries at all, if this ends up happening. The only thing that kinda worries me, is are we going to have enough staff coverage that day to post the results every 30 minutes, so we know who is taken, and who is available?
