I think we just had our first reach of the draft!
I'm kidding RPF. That was a good pick. He was on my board.

I'm not too overly excited with my pick. I thought about going with a bigger SG who could shoot, but that guy couldn't defend or rebound so I went with a true SF. Didn't see a PF or center that I liked with my pick. Plus Morris fits the same age group as my first two picks in Hawkins and Kenny Smith. Still, not overly excited about the pick.

A question for WigNosy:
When you see the Current and Potential ratings, does potential mean potential going into this TC or will the potential remain the same next season and the season after that etc

A question for WigNosy: When you see the Current and Potential ratings, does potential mean potential going into this TC or will the potential remain the same next season and the season after that etc As I understand the "Current" and "Potential" ratings, the Current rating is "what the guy has now" and the Potential Ratings represent the "maximum possible rating a player can achieve in this attribute" and as such should almost never be lower than the "Current" rating. Note that a player's maximum possible rating will decrease as he ages; for example, a player with an A potential rating at 25 years old may have a B potential rating at 30 years old and a C potential rating at 35 years old (and his "current" ratings will be declining as well). Unless I am mistaken, a player's "potential" ratings change after training camp is run if they are going to change at all for that season (usually to decline a bit). My guess is if you have a guy who currently has an "A" in potential, he might still have an "A" after training camp... or it could drop to "A-" or maybe even "B+" (depending on age; a 22-year old should see less of a potential drop than a 40-year old). As far as I can tell, what this means is that even if a guy has an "A" potential and a "C" rating, if you never train him on that rating, over the course of a few seasons, his potential will fall to "B" and then to "C" - at which point he's never going to be able to earn an "A" rating. Another way of looking at this is, "it's best to train players hard in areas where their potential is much greater than their current rating... potential is a use it or lose it thing." EDIT: It also means that areas where a player's rating is at or very near his potential rating won't be helped much by training... he's already "as good as he can ever be" though as he gets older, training harder in those areas may slow the inevitable decline caused by age. But this is all my speculation; I haven't tested this as rigorously as I've tested other things. It's also worth noting that FBB's creator once mentioned that scouting gets "re-done" several times a season (at the end of each month?) and it is possible to see player ratings and potential grades change as the scout gets a better read on the player. I'm not sure how this applies to leagues with "scouting off" as we should have, though.

Well my pick is in. Looks like we are going a bit small. I guess Elie will likely play the SG spot, and Reggie Williams will be the SF. I consider them interchangeable offensively though.
Let's see what we have here. PG Terry Porter, SG Mario Elie, and SF Reggie Williams. Not too shabby. It's going to be a long wait till we pick again though.

One other thing I should mention... "Injuries" should not be set to 100%. Every team will be playing with 4 and 5 players out with injury all season long. Setting injuries around 50% seems to be about right.

Setting injuries around 50% seems to be about right. What he said. CoachSlick, and I (we both run the BIBA) did extensive testing, and 50 percent seems decent. Anything else is WAY too much in this game.

Setting injuries around 50% seems to be about right. There is all the percentages and then Yes and No. I had it set to "Yes"...Seemed simple enough of a setting to me. So I should change to 50% is what your saying?

Yep, that's what we suggest. Otherwise, it's totally unrealistic.
