#1. SG Kobe Bryant - 6'6 - 210 lbs.Kobe Bryant was the unanimous #1 pick of the 1996 draft since the beginning of the league. It's not hard to see why when you check out the potential Kobe has in the game, disregarding what we know about the real life Black Mamba. Explosive scorer with a pure inside game and a clutch free throw shooter, and will be a future tenacious defender. The league better get ready for Kobe because he'll be an All NBA player for many seasons, because he looks like a 25-5-5 monster waiting to be born. Kobe would fit on any team, and the Bulls already have SG Brent Barry. Whether jhow uses Kobe as the starting SG or SF is to be determined, but I wouldn't doubt if the Bulls were looking to move Barry for a big or another pick in this draft.

#2 C Marcus Camby 6'11" 220 LBS
With the 2nd pick, the Suns select Camby here. Camby possesses elite Zo-like defensive and rebounding potential. While his offensive game leaves a lot to be desired, he's not a stiff on that end as well. Looking at the landscape in the West and seeing that you'll have to go through one or more of Shaq/ Kemp/ Hakeem/ Sheed/ D. Davis/ Webber/ Bradley every year; this seems like the obvious choice.

#3. PG Allen Iverson – 6’0 – 165 lbs
In a draft deep with alpha scorers at the top, AI is probably the most NBA-ready player in this draft. Highlighted by his elite quickness and explosiveness in the lane, AI already looks primed for a Rookie of the Year campaign with whoever drafts him and he still has plenty room to grow on defense as well. Whoever grabs this combo G is going to have lightning in a bottle (no not Conroy’s moonshine) and will have the luxury of pushing the pace for his team. The Spurs already have their frontcourt settled with Dale Davis, Rasheed, and Robinson. AI or Ray Allen would help the Spurs field one of the most complete starter lineups in the league.

4. SG Ray Allen - 6'5 - 205The Cavs will have a hard time passing up a dynamic scorer to pair with their do-everything PF in Kevin Garnett. Allen provides the ability to be a #1 scoring option. And with the defensive potential of KG, it isn't that concerning that Allen is a bit of a sieve defensively. The rebuild is still ongoing for the Cavs as long as Wilkins is on the team, but if they can re-sign Jayson Williams, they'll have a pretty good trio of Williams/KG/Allen going forward.

#5 C/PF Jermaine O'Neal 6'11" 226
The Kings have cleaned house and understand it's going to be a long road to return back to the Holy Land; that's why they can afford to be hyper patient and select the raw High School prospect in J.O.. While O'Neal will probably never lead the league in scoring, rebounding or make an all defensive team, it's his well rounded game that locks him up in the top 5. O'Neal will potentially be a 20-10 nightmare to deal with every night and will be one of the better 2 way players in the league in about 5-6 years.

#6. PG Steve Nash - 6'3 - 195lbs Steve Nash miraculously falls to #6 in this scenario, but he's one of the best, if not the, pure PG prospects we've had in all our drafts. Nash has great potential to be the league leader in assists and can develop into an elite 3 point shooter. He's ultra quick (same as AI) and won't be as big of a defensive liability as initially thought. Excellent value if he drops this far.

7. S G Kerry Kittles - 6'5 - 179Sherman Douglas is not long for this team, so the pick could be Marbury, and he has a hole at SF, which could mean Peja, but the Jazz need a dependable player who can score and play solid defense on the perimeter. Of the players remaining, Kittles fits that bill the most. He's not a world changer, but there aren't any left at this point and he can come in as one of the best players on the team before playing a minute.

#8 Ben Wallace 6'9" 240 Lbs The Hawks are trying to build a team a little different than the rest of the sim world has seen and are notorious for taking value for their picks. First of all, if the right guy doesn't fall i believe he will try and target some teams maybe 1-3 spots lower to trade down and get another asset, but if he's forced to make a pick I think he goes the ultra defensive route with Wallace. His team is already made up of potential defensive beast: Eric Snow, McDyess, and Randy Brown. Adding Wallace will ensure a defensive core for years to come, and it would also give his offense an identity as a slow paced team limiting other offense's possessions. Wallace also allows the Hawks to man-handle other team's on the boards, something he's coveted during his championship runs. I believe he thinks he can get scoring on the FA market.

#9. PF Antoine Walker - 6'9 - 245 lbsWhat get for the Nets, who probably would have preferred Ben Wallace as a defensive stud at the C position, but grabs a future All Star forward who can develop a seriously scary inside-outside offensive game. He has some weaknesses, such as lack of great athleticism and poor post defense, but he's 19 years old and looks like an 18-8 player soon. Nets might not need another PF with Juwan Howard as the starter, but who can pass on a guy this talented with the remaining players?

10. Predrag "Peja" Stojakovic - 6'9 - 215Who do you pick when you have decent players at every position? You look for depth. Particularly, you look for scoring depth, and you'll get it with Peja. He can come off the bench to provide some serious points and stretch out the defense. He has flaws defensively, but that's why he won't start on a Bucks team that, honestly, should be knocking on the door of the playoffs this season.

#11 PG Stephon Marbury 6'2" 180 Lbs The Grizzlies get the PG they coveted last year when they uh.. overpaid for Greg Anthony, and good thing for them Starbury will be able to earn Anthony's max for him. In Marbury the Grizz get an 2 way player who can make plays for himself and others. With their embarrassment of riches in the front court, expect that Marbury take over the role of PG and they slide over Anthony who has the size and ability to defend most 2's. Marbury's scoring ability also allows the Grizz to worry less about what Anthony doesn't bring on the offensive end since it will be made up for with this potential top point guard.

#12. C Erik Dampier - 6'11 - 265 lbsThe Bucks need to establish some form of defense after having one of the league's worst defense, and adding Dampier alongside developing Theo Ratliff at the PF position can help speed the process. He's not a scorer, but on the Bucks that isn't needed with the balanced scoring they have at the other positions. He'll be used solely for defense and rebounding purposes which the Bucks desperately need to reach the playoffs after a brief absence of 3 seasons.

13. PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim - 6'9 - 230The Hawks may have a PF of the future in McDyess, but Shareef's athletic attributes are hard to pass up. He is quick enough to play SF, and strong enough to play either. Plus he can defend and score on the inside. He's not a point guard, so he doesn't fit GM Wig's team philosophy, but he's young and he could be a valuable contributor for depth.

#14 Zydrunas Ilgauskas 7'3" 230 lbs The Heat do a little forward thinking here and try and replace Will Perdue who comes off of contract next season. This allows big Z a year to grow into his attributes and be game ready next year. With big Z, they get a huge body to protect the rim that can score and defend. A rare two way big man that would have never lasted this long in a more shallow draft. Z has the potential to be a 15-10 guy.

#15. PG Derek Fisher - 6'1 - 200 lbs
Blazers currently have all starting positions filled and can afford to pick the best available talent here, and Derek Fisher seems like a great fit for the Blazers. He'll grow into a 3&D role at the PG position as a backup, but he'll be a valuable piece for the Blazers who look to build depth in their playoff destined team. A backcourt duo of Kenny Smith and Derek Fisher is intriguing to say the least.
