I decided to look at the worst three teams in each conference (currently) and made a team out of the best players of those teams. I picked a starter for each spot and a backup for each spot. I am imagining them playing a best of 7 series, and I am going to predict the outcome. The Eastern conference teams are the Cavs, Bulls, and Hawks. The Western conference teams are the Kings, Suns, and Nuggets.
Eastern Conference
C- Jayson Williams
PF- Popeye Jones
SF- Detlef Shrempf
SG-Brent Barry
PG-Muggsy Bogues
6-Darrell Armstrong (PG)
7-Eric Snow (SG)
8-Kevin Garnet (SF)
9-Antonio McDyess (PF)
10-Terry Davis (C)
The Eastern Conference is definitely a undeveloped team. The backups are going to be strong in the future, but currently they are not too good. Kevin Garnett will probably be shifted to PF in the future, but he is currently listed as a SF. In 3 years, this could be a very dominant team. I would run an outside game plan for offense with three pointers being in the mix.
Key Players: Brent Barry, Mugsy Bogues
Western Conference
C-Elden Campbell
PF- Grant Long
SF-Willie Anderson
SG- Terry Porter
PG- Spud Webb
6- Michael Adams
7- Tony Dehere (SG)
8- Rick Fox (SF)
9- Joe Smith (PF)
10- Robert Werdann (C )
The Western conference actually has a pretty solid team currently. A mix of some rookies and some veterans will allow this team to be good now and in the future. I anticipate dominating on the rebounds and down low. Rick Fox would probably be the first player off of the bench. I would run a balanced game plan with a slower pace.
Key Players: Elden Campbell, Willie Anderson
Results:
Western Conference over the Eastern Conference in 5 games
