This a joke? I simply picked the all time best at their respective positions. Very simple.

C - Wilt ($3) = Could literally do anything he decided to do (heck, led the league in ASSISTS one year). Whether or not his head is totally in the game is a concern, but nobody more talented at C ever. Going to assume this is "later career" Wilt where he was team-focused and not "early career" Wilt where he was all about the stats.
PF - Duncan ($3) = Seriously? $3? Best PF ever as far as I'm concerned.
PG - Stockton ($2) = All-time steals and assists leader, and a better defender than Magic (yeah, I said it, and I love Magic). Magic is a better rebounder and better scorer, but the gap between Magic and Stockton isn't $3. Besides, I have dominant scorers everywhere, I can afford a distributing PG.
Those three picks were no-brainers in this format. Which means now I need to pick out the players where I'm getting the biggest "oomph" for my virtual bucks. I have $7 to spend, which means I'm looking for the biggest gap between players. My options are: Lebron/Drexler, Bird/West, Dr. J/Kobe, or Durant/Jordan.
Dr. J/Kobe is out. Durant is straight up better than Dr. J and Jordan is better than Kobe (i.e., both sides of the combo favor one side). Bird/West I chuck out based on Bird being a defensive liability.
That leaves me looking at LeBron/Drexler or Durant/Jordan. Can't go wrong with either one - but I feel the gap between LeBron and Durant's all-around game is bigger than the gap between Drexler and Jordan. Plus LeBron just physically outclasses guys in a way Jordan never did. Finally, LeBron doesn't need shots - which fits nicely with the theme of "guys that are totally able to score if the team needs it/they're open, but their egos don't require it."
So give me LeBron/Drexler.
So...
C - Wilt PF - Duncan SF - LeBron SG - Drexler PG - Stockton
The passing on this team (best passing C ever, best passing SF ever, best passing PG ever, and darn good passers in Duncan and Drexler) will make it an "old man ball" dream come true... but you've also got four (all but Drexler) guys who are dominant defenders both individually and in team defense (and Drexler ain't bad). Chemistry should be darn good.

Balls and I have talked through this lineup: Hakeem - $1. Hakeem is my favorite center of all time, and he's cheap Duncan - $3. Anyone taking Malone is wrong. Duncan is the best PF of all time. Bird - $4. Shooting, passing, solid defender, and a really good gel guy. Those three were the first three we picked, which left us with $7. Lots of good combinations, but honestly the best one is: Jordan - $5. The team's go-to scorer, perimeter defensive presence, and closer. Stockton - $2. Facilitator, knows how to get the ball to the other guys to make them happy. C: Hakeem PF: Duncan SF: Bird SG: Jordan PG: Stockton Three members of the original Dream Team, one member of Dream Team II, and the best PF ever. I think that's an elite lineup on both ends of the court. Balls agrees.

I think that's an elite lineup on both ends of the court. Balls agrees. We made a slight adjustment. With the other 4 guys, we don't really feel like we need a set-up guy and would prefer to add possibly the best perimeter defender ever.

Good luck scoring.
PG: Stockton - $2 SG: Jordan - $5 SF: James - $5 PF: Garnett - $1 C: O'Neal - $2
Or if I was going for my personal favorites, I would build this team:
PG: Isiah Thomas - $3 (that playoff game 6 on busted ankle) SG: Drexler - $2 (only because I hate the others) SF: James - $5 PF: Barkley - $4 C: Olajuwon - $1
